In the event of your death, your loan balance will be paid in full so your family won't have to worry about this obligation. Instead, they will receive a clear title to this vehicle.
If you are sick or hurt and can't work, your loan is protected so you don't have to worry about making your payment until you return to work or your loan is paid off. It even pays if you continue to get a paycheck. This coverage protects you while you are at work and even when you are not at work for the entire length of the loan and pays in addition to any other coverage you may already have.
Auto policies only cover you for the Actual Cash Value or Market Value of your vehicle and not what you owe on that vehicle. Should your car be totaled or stolen, GAP pays any shortage between your insurance company settlement and your scheduled loan balance so you don't have to worry about coming up with the difference. This 'gap' can be substantial the first 2-3 years of an auto loan.
This protection covers full retail parts and labor for the life of the contract so you don't have to worry about expensive repair bills. If you have a covered repair, all you pay is your deductible the repair facility is paid directly from the company.
